St Piran’s Revenge 10km Trail Race

Many of you will know of St Piran as the patron saint of tin miners, but recent archeological finds have shed light on a little known fact. St Piran is also the patron saint of Cornish Trail Runners. We feel that the course of the Revenge would have his full approval. Last year, St Piran’s Revenge sold out in under 48 hours. This year we are back for more glorious hills, sand and more hills. The race is a very challenging, multi terrain route that starts on Perranporth Beach and includes speedy coast path sections, steep dune ascents and descents and even St Piran’s beloved 6th Century Oratory along the way. You’ll get over 1000 feet of climbing on a course that is approximately 6 miles. It’s a tough one but ultimately satisfying – the closest you’ll get to Fell Race by a beach 🙂
This is a back to basics race, organised with a fell racing ethos in mind. We are keen to ensure that the carbon footprint of the event is kept to a minimum. So what does this mean. No medals I’m afraid or goody bags / post race swag (although we may give you something recycled at the end). There are no water stations on the course.
However…..race entry is £5 (£7 for unaffiliated ARC/UKA). An absolute bargain I hear you cry. We hope that by keeping the price down will make this race as accessible to all as possible.
The course combines some good ascents combined with faster runnable sections and steep descents. We will have trophies (recycled of course) for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male / females (and there will be Age Cat prizes as well). This year we are proud to announce that St Piran’s Revenge is race no.5 in the Cornish Multi Terrain Race Series.
We have organised this event with the assistance of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust Ranger for the Penhale Dunes. The Dunes are a sensitive habitat and are designated as a SSSI / SAC. Consent for the race to go ahead has been granted by Natural England. We are grateful for both organisations and local landowner support.

This year we have extended our entry capacity to 300 runners. As with last years race we fully expect to sell out.
In line with our low entry price, we will once again be asking for donations for the Perranzubaloe Community Kitchen. Your generosity last year managed to fill the back of a VW Transporter. Thank you for your support.

Entries are non refundable, but may be transferred to another runner via your Si Entries account up until the day of the race. Minimum Age for entrants – 18 years.
